Japan Tsunami relief by the kids’ school

So a classmate of Zachary’s at The University School of Milwaukee, Olivia, suggested that instead of just taking up a donation for the children of Japan, that they hold a raffle. She asked her folks to buy an iPad 2 then offered raffle tickets to the entire lower school. As you can imagine, the response was enthusiastic, to say the least. The class was hoping to raise around $2000 but would have been happy with $1000. Tickets were $1.00 each and people were breaking open their piggy banks to buy tickets. Kids were doing extra chores to get tickets, and parents were matching their kids.

The final total?

$3,508.72

All going to Save the Children Japan. Way to go, kids. Way to go.

No, a girl in his grade won, though…
