Pulse Smartpen

Yes, another day, another new toy. I get to play with the Pulse Smartpen for the next few weeks. In concept, it seems really simple. Write notes, upload said notes to computer, while recording what’s going on. You can refer to the audio automatically when you tap on your note. As a result, you can record a lecture in class, make notes then listen to the part of the recording associated with the note. Substitute the word “meetings” instead of “class” if you are in the workforce. Be sure to edit out the sound of you snoring. Here’s a video:

The cost is down to $130 for a 4GB  and applications for the pen have been developed (like Hangman and Blackjack) but I haven’t played with them so I can’t comment on them yet. Needless to say, I will be following this up with more posts.

This is amazing! I wonder how much memory a page of written text uses up. Will it be able to automatically translate what you’ve written into other languages?
I believe the costs for paper and ink would run a millionaire to ruin eventually. But I do like the idea!
